With a history spanning multiple decades, SOUL SPORTS found a permanent partner in NJPW from the year 2000. About SOUL SPORTS
Founded in 1989, SOUL SPORTS was originally brought to life as SOUL. Offering a range of surf gear, it wasn’t until the mid 90’s that the brand turned its attention to the streets thanks to the influence of New York and London street culture.
As the brand continued to gain recognition a number of athletes showed their liking towards SOUL, which inspired the creation of SOUL SPORTS. The sub-brand’s concept was to provide support to athletes across a variety of sports, no matter their level of athleticism.
SOUL SPORTS Meets NJPW
In 2000, one of the most groundbreaking collaborations in pro wrestling history was born, and SOUL SPORTS became the official sponsor of the popular Japanese wrestling promotion. Initially providing tracksuits for NJPW’s range of wrestling stars, in particular for the annual Wrestling Kingdom and G1 CLIMAX events, SOUL SPORTS soon saw an overwhelming demand for their range of sportswear.
Today the collaboration between SOUL SPORTS x NJPW is stronger than ever, with the pair releasing a number of new products each year—including special limited edition items—to add to their ever expanding range of activewear.
